Audio from CD source, the original 78rpm single was issued on Decca 23317 - Long Ago (And Far Away) (Jerome Kern-Ira Gershwin) by Helen Forrest and Dick Haymes, orchestra conducted by Camarata, recorded January 27, 1944. The Kern-Gershwin ballad was among 1944’s most popular song hits, spending six weeks atop the weekly “Your Hit Parade” radio survey. It was sung in the movie by Kelly and Hayworth (dubbed by Martha Mears).
