Description
No, that’s not a label misprint...the words “a lot” were not part of the original copy-written song title. Composer/conductor/playwright/radio performer/TV producer Meredith Willson [sic] is today best-remembered by many for having written “The Music Man,” though he also penned a handful of stand-alone pop songs over the years. They included “You And I” “May The Good Lord Bless And Keep You” “I See The Moon” and this seasonal favorite, with Perry & the Fontanes performing the version that registered on the Billboard charts during the song’s 1951 debut year.
Billboard Chart Peaks: 19 (radio play), 23 (sales)
The original single was issued on RCA Victor 4314 - It’s Beginning To Look Like Christmas (Meredith Willson) by Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters, orchestra conducted by Mitchell Ayres, recorded September 18, 1951
