Description
All You who Pass this way - by Bill Tamblyn, England - themes from Lamentations 1 and Jeremiah in the Old Testament
One of the many songs in Professor Bill Tamblyn's work 'The Journey' - a reflection on the exile and return of the infant Christ celebrated with readings and world music.
Sung by Quire, Colchester, in their presentation of 'The Journey' -
Sat 17th Dec 2011 at St. Botolph's Church, Colchester, England.
Bill says this about 'The Journey' - "What I have tried to do in this prose-poem is to work from what we know now about the events surrounding the time of Jesus' birth, and using accounts from our own time, record the actuality of man's inhumanity to man and contrast it with man's generosity in adversity.
The readings, for the most part, reflect the story of Mary and Joseph -- refugees from tribal lands around Bethlehem in Palestine -- who fled to Egypt and then, when they thought it safe returned to Palestine ( though not to Bethlehem but to Galilee)
.
Their story, the story of refugees, is as real today as it was then, 2000 years ago"
