Palermo 0-3 Manchester City, played on Saturday, August 9th at the Renzo Barbera Stadium, for the inauguration of the "Anglo-Palermitan Trophy," celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Sicilian club.
It was City's only pre-season friendly before the start of the Premier League.
The event celebrated Palermo's Anglo-Saxon origins, dating back to its founding as the "Anglo Palermitan Athletic & Football Club" in 1900.

The match had a symbolic impact, strengthening the bond between Palermo and Manchester City through the City Football Group, which also owns the Rosanero.
The choreography, developed by the Curva Nord 12 fans, featured Liam and Noel Gallagher, the frontmen of Oasis and longtime Manchester City fans, dressed in vintage Rosanero jerseys, accompanied by the slogan "Palermo forever" in the band's signature style.
The chosen musical backdrop was "Live Forever," one of Oasis's most iconic songs, used as the soundtrack for a truly visual embrace between the Sicilian city and England, reflecting the bond between Palermo and the City Football Group.
The initiative attracted great participation, thanks in part to the sale of commemorative T-shirts before the match, the proceeds of which contributed to the financing of the show in the stands.

Lo sfondo musicale scelto è stato “Live Forever”, uno dei brani più iconici degli Oasis, usato come colonna sonora per un vero e proprio abbraccio visivo tra la città siciliana e l’Inghilterra, nell’ottica del legame tra Palermo e il City Football Group
L’iniziativa ha riscosso grande partecipazione, anche grazie alla vendita di magliette celebrative prima del match, il cui ricavato ha contribuito al finanziamento dell’allestimento dello spettacolo sugli spalti.
