Abdel Halim Hafez, whose real name Abdelhalim Chabana, born June 21, 1929 and died March 30, 1977, is an Egyptian singer and actor.
He was born in the village of Al-Helwat, Sharkia Governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Abdul Halim was nicknamed "The Nightingale Al-Asmar", he was famous for his romantic singing and was considered one of the best singers in the Middle East at his time.
With over 80 million records sold, Abdel is still widely celebrated, despite meeting his demise on 30th March 1977 from liver failure.
