The music of Montreal's Elephant Stone goes places that most psychedelic bands -- and the rest of us, for that matter -- can only dream about. This is from the opening night of their 2022 West Coast tour at The Lodge Room in Highland Park, CA (near Los Angeles). It's a medley from the band's 2020 release HOLLOW that includes "Land of Dead," "Darker Time, Darker Space," and "The Court and Jury."

Singer/songwriter/bassist/sitarist Rishi Dhir's mystic explorations swerve from cerebral to mystic while firmly rooted in influences like Nirvana, Cream and "Kashmir"-era Led Zeppelin. His songs and sitar playing respectfully reference both Ravi Shankar and George Harrison. Robbie McArthur's guitars -- slide and otherwise -- perfectly complement the band's Zen-but-rocking attitude. Jason Kent supports on keyboards and guitar (often simultaneously) and Miles Dupree's drums give structure to this band's spacey, rocking audacity.
