Learned from the recordings of Dock Boggs and Doc Watson. This song was originally known as "Hustling Gamblers," but was first recorded in 1927 by Dock Boggs under the title "Country Blues." It is part of a family of country blues songs with similar melodies and lyrics of drinking, gambling, and unfaithful lovers, including "Darling Corey," "False-Hearted Lovers Blues," "Little Maggie," and "Old Rub Alcohol Blues."
