Here, David uses a stone and a sling to bring down the giant Goliath and by extension, the Philistine army.

David was an Israelite boy from the House of Judah living in Judea in around 1,000 BCE.

He would become the second King of Israel, and unite the 12 tribes (smaller nation-states) into a Kingdom of Israel.

His son King Solomon would build the First Temple in Jerusalem on Mount Zion.

The battle between David and Goliath takes place in the Valley of Elah, located in the Shephelah region of ancient Israel, in the Holy Land. This valley, also known as the Valley of the Terebinth, is situated between the Philistine city of Gath and the Israelite territory near Bethlehem. According to the biblical account in 1 Samuel 17, the Philistines and Israelites faced each other on opposite hills, with the valley serving as the battleground where David confronted and defeated Goliath.
