JAPANESE FOUR SEASONS - New Vivaldi Ensemble

Baroque music generally refers to European music from the 17th century to the mid-18th century, but at that time Japan was in a period of national isolation, as it wasn't until the Meiji period that European music entered Japan in its proper form. European music during the Meiji period was already in the Romantic era, and therefore baroque music is not found in Japanese works. To fill this gap, I arranged melodies that all Japanese people know and transformed it into baroque music. Some pieces are actual compositions rather than arrangements. If even people who don't usually listen to classical music can naturally immerse themselves in the world of baroque music, I will have achieved my goal. Following Vivaldi's Le Quattro Stagioni, I have chosen a three-movement structure ("fast-slow-fast'' tempi) for each season.

“I Am a Child of the Sea”
This song was included in the “Jinjo Elementary School Reader's Song'' (1908), but unfortunately it has recently been removed from the Ministry of Education's list of songs. I don't know who the composer or the lyricist are, but I hope that the bright and powerful melody will be sung forever. Arranged in the form of a prelude and fugue.
