While Wilco was on tour supporting "Summerteeth" in 1999, Jeff and the late Jay Bennett stopped by Austin City Limits TV to play a few songs. James Alley Blues is a Richard "Rabbit" Brown song, first recorded in 1927, and has been a staple of Wilco and Jeff Tweedy live sets for over 20 years.
