Description
Hello :)
This is a Bass/Drum Play Along I've done of the Banda Black Rio song "Maria Fumaça" from their 1977 album with the same name.
You can find this transcription and play-along at Muzento when you sign up with an Advanced Lesson Plan.
This play along is at 98BPM, the original was around 108BPM. GarageBand is really useful. I spent barely anytime on the drum track. There were a couple of transitions that had a unison rhythm that I edited, but other than that, it was fast and easy to put together.
I like to practice some songs like this. It really exposes you and forces you to play a little cleaner. In a full band situation, there are a lot of little sounds that aren't really audible. But when it's just the bass and drums, it can be a little humbling some times and you might have to be more aware of your technique and feel to get a good sound. At least it makes me more aware of it :)
There's a ton that can be learned from taking on a tune like this. As always, take your time, loop the problem spots and have fun! I hope you enjoy it :)
Don't forget to "like" and "subscribe" and thanks for watching :)
