Grammy Nominated All-star Band Professor Louie & The Crowmatix began as the studio-backing band for Aaron Professor Louie’s musical productions for The Band. Rick Danko, bass player and singer of The Band christened him -Professor Louie - due to his work with The Band and it’s individual members.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix have 15 studio CD’s on The Woodstock Records Label and have consistently stayed on the RMR Contemporary Charts in the top 50 for the past twenty years. In 2022 Professor Louie & The Crowmatix on The Woodstock Records label will release their 16th studio original song CD “Strike Up The Band” They have been inducted in The New York State Blues Hall of Fame; hold a permanent place in The Canada South Blues Museum. This All-star Woodstock Band - Professor Louie & The Crowmatix shows feature a night of Roots Rock material including, originals, Blues, select songs from The Band repertoire that Louie learned directly from The Band and songs he helped create with them including their comeback hits Atlantic City, Blind Willie McTell, the show presents a diverse set list from this stellar roots crew.
Professor Louie & The Crowmatix play150 shows a year in the US and worldwide, performing at the Thunder Bay Blues, London Blues, Windsor Blues Festivals, Falcon Ridge Festival, Sellersville Theater, Bearsvile Theater, BB Kings, House Of Blues, LA. Professor Louie has performed three times on The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix has emerged in the music industry as the torchbearer of the true spirit of American Roots Music. Louie collaborating with The Band for over fifteen years - Co-producing the Band’s last three CD’s in the 90’s.
