Description
Original creative series of Characters based on a book I am writing.
Playing on the historic rivalry of the MacDonalds and the Campbells in 17th Century Scotland, Sorcha MacDonald has a mental snap after years of street urchin misbehaving alongside her wayward mother. The life skills she has developed are mostly criminal and negative. Agnes Naismith, now 76 years old, conspires with 20-year-old Sorcha to run a scheme guiding the Laird Shaw's signing of a Mill deal in 1696 Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Having murdered her own mother in a back alley in Edinburgh, Sorcha heads east and then North into the highlands. She hears tale of the young woman Catherine Campbell who has been hired by the Laird Shaw in Paisley as a domestic servant for the summer of 1696. Sorcha murders Catherine and assumes her identity and travels to Paisley and settles in to the kirk there and plays Catherine perfectly, charming everyone, including the Laird Shaw.
She is given more and more responsibilities within the Shaw residence, like sitting the 11-year old Christian Shaw, the Laird's daughter. A fateful meeting.
