Behold, she grows, a black and beautiful rose
Sweet is her essence, sweet and strong
Dangling her head in the water bed
Removing her vivacious body

When, alas, the lustful eyes of the lasivia smell caught her
The ravishing arms of the lasivia smell plot her
Defiling her body, but could not, her soul
The harshness of nature changed her
Shedding her petals and making her bare
Divergenating her, changing her roots, making her bare
Bleaching her skin and straightening her hair
Behold, a confused rose, a bleeding rose, a dying rose
A rose aborted
But from her neighbour, ever grows
Highways, great industries, civilization
A new country is born
I-o itiolah seeds were scattered on new ground
Some fell upon rocks, some fell upon sandy ground
And it came to pass that some fell upon fertile ground
And sprung high in natural beauty once more
