Description
Originally written and recorded by Will Bradley and Ray McKinley in 1940 as, "This Little Icky Went to Town," the number was apparently re-titled, "Boardwalk Boogie" for the Soundie.
The most notable thing here is the eight-to-the-bar opening by pianist Freddie Slack, who for my money was the best of the white boogie woogie piano players in the 1940's.
There are also nice solos by Peanuts Hucko on tenor saxophone and Will Bradley on trombone.
