Description
"Yamma Dummarung" is the Wiradjuri word for welcome in the Condobolin language group in Central Western NSW.
'Wiradjuri Welcome' is a track created by the team at Desert Pea Media, alongside Indigenous artists Roy Peterson (Condobolin) and Bruce Carr (Wellington) as part of a Desert Pea Media mentoring program with local young people.
The song was created as part of 'Marramarra', an Indigenous arts event held in Bathurst, NSW in 2011, showcasing Indigenous arts from the Central Western region.
The event's Artistic Director, Toby Finlayson from Desert Pea Media created three songs in Condobolin, Wellington and Orange, NSW as well as a 30min documentary around indigenous art and story.
