"You've Really Got a Hold on Me", by one of Motown's top acts The Miracles, reached Billboard Hot 100 Pop chart at the #8 spot, and #1 on the Billboard R&B singles chart in 1962-1963. One of the Miracles' most covered tunes, the song received a 1998 Grammy Hall of Fame Award and was selected as one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. Written by the group's well-known lead vocals Smokey Robinson who said he got the song's inspiration after listening to a Sam Cooke song "Bring It On Home to Me". The Miracles were the first successful recording act for Motown Records, and one of the most important and influential groups in pop, rock and roll, and R&B music history. Among numerous hits, they have been awarded many top music industry honors over the years that include induction to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, multiple Grammy Hall of Fame honors, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
